What is CAE?

Computer aided engineering is a method using computer software to facilitate engineering analysis. It is the name of the whole field dealing with virtual simulations and includes various types of analyses, from the finite element method (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and model-based definition (MBD), to optimization.
